Remove Illegal Dumpsites
The mission of R. I. D. is to educate the public about the impact that dumping has on a community and to eliminate illegal dumping in our community by using law enforcement and community pressure to keep these areas clean.

R.I.D. is made up of concerned citizens of Cocke County and is operated by the Beautification Team. Illegal dumping is a serious problem in Cocke County, especially in our more rural and potentially most beautiful areas. R.I.D. would like to remind you of the hazards that these dumpsites create such as:
- Mosquitoes & rodents that can carry disease
- Physical hazard to children and animals
- Increased risk of fire & flooding
- Rain and water runoff from dumpsites containing chemicals cause contamination to drinking water
- Allowing dumpsites can create the idea that this and other crimes is acceptable in our county
