How to Dispose of Asbestos
As you may know, asbestos is a very dangerous mineral found in older homes. The Mesothelioma Center Handling and Disposal Guide covers the dangers of handling asbestos, how to identify it, current regulations, and more. It is their goal to help spread awareness on the dangers of handling asbestos and why it’s important to let professionals remove and dispose of it properly.

How to Dispose of Paint
Oil based paint will be accepted by appointment only. Residents must call 423-721-1413 to schedule an appointment for oil-based paint pick-up/drop-off.
Latex based paint containers must be emptied and dried and disposed of at the landfill. Latex paint is not considered as a hazardous waste by TDEC.
Hold for an Event
The items described below need to be held for a recycling event. Electronics can also be recycled, but they need to be held until we host an electronics recycling event. If an individual has large amounts of electronics (like from a business or school) they can contact the KCCB office for additional information about a large collection. Check out our events page for info on the next scheduled recycling event.
