March is Keep Tennessee Beautiful Month!

To promote awareness and litter prevention, we are hosting Community Trash Mob “Trashercise’ events. This is a great opportunity to get some exercise and pick up some trash! Dates, times, and locations will be listed below. Citizens may come and receive a grabber, a vest, trash bags, and gloves to volunteer to clean up their road so that we can all do our part to keep our county beautiful. Supplies will be given on a first come first serve basis.

March 6th 8:00-10:00 Del Rio Elementary, Parrottsville Elementary, and Grassy Fork Elementary
March 13th 8:00-10:00 TN Division of Forestry Office, Edgemont Elementary, Cosby High School
March 27th 8:00-10:00 Tanner Cultural Center, Centerview Elementary, Smokey Mountain Elementary

More Clean-Up Events!

March 20th 9:00-1:00 – Douglas Lake Clean-Up Meet at the pull-off across from O’Dell Road. Grabbers, bags, gloves, and vests will be provided. Light refreshments will be provided. CDC recommendations will be encouraged.
April 24th 9:00-1:00 – Foothills Parkway Clean-UpMeet at the first pull-off on the Cosby side of the parkway. Grabbers, bags, gloves, and vests will be provided. Light refreshments will be provided. CDC recommendations will be encouraged.
June 6th 10:00-2:00 – Pigeon River Clean-UpLocation TBD. Help do your part to clean-up the Pigeon River.
September 18th 9:00-1:00 – Household Hazardous Waste Collection and Electronics Recycling Event.Myer’s Diversified. Bring us your household hazardous waste, electronics, old eyeglasses, tattered flags, and gently used items. Let this be your one stop recycle drop-off.
